Gülsen Akbulak was born on August 12, 1955.

A graduate of the University of İstanbul’s Faculty of Law, Attorney at Law Akbulak is now retired. On June 5, 2001 she became a member of the Ataşehir Branch of ÇYDD. 

Between “2003-2005” she was a member of the Audit Committee, between “2005-2007” she was the Secretary and between “2007-2009” she was the Treasurer at ÇYDD.

Between “2009-2015” she was the President of the Ataşehir Branch.  Since 2015 she has continued to serve as a member of the Executive Committee.

She obtained her teaching certificate from the “Adult Literacy Education” joint program run by ÇYDD and AÇEV (Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı-Mother and Child Education Foundation) and gave literacy courses forwomen.  

She joined joint programs run by ÇYDD, Boğaziçi University and Kadıköy Municipality and obtained certificates for “Natural Disaster Protection” and “Natural Disaster Recovery”.  She became a Mahalle Afet Gönüllüsü (MAG-District Disaster Volunteer).

Gülsen Akbulak is married and has one child.
