Established in May 2025 by Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi (ÇYDD), Cagdas Yasami Destekleme
Vakfi (TÇYDV), and Teke Tek Bilim
General Information
In April 2024, Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi (ÇYDD), Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Vakfi (TÇYDV),
and Teke Tek Bilim established a fund with the following objectives:
To support young individuals pursuing doctoral studies abroad in basic sciences such as
mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, molecular biology and genetics, astronomy, etc.
To strengthen the knowledge and skills of our youth in these fields
To contribute to Turkey’s academic and scientific progress by fostering qualified scientists,
thus adding value to the country.
Students who are awarded this scholarship will receive a monthly stipend in Turkish Lira equivalent
to 1000 USD during their PhD programs. In return, they are expected to participate in projects
related to Turkey at some point in their academic or professional careers—creating impact and
contributing to the advancement of science in Turkey.
They are also expected to support ÇYDD scholars through online and offline meetings by offering
career and educational guidance at appropriate intervals.
Candidates are selected by a Selection Advisory Committee composed of academics specializing in
the relevant scientific fields and representatives of the institutions that created the fund.
The Executive Committee, formed by representatives from the founding institutions, handles the
application process and communication with candidates.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, the basic science fields eligible for the doctoral scholarship have
been updated in accordance with the criteria, taking into account that last year’s scholars were from
the field of physics.
