We are deeply sorry about the mine disaster in the Amasra district of Bartın.

In this period when the mine disaster in Amasra district of Bartın is being followed with deep sadness, the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD); together with its branches, members, volunteers, and supporters has started work to support the students and their families who lost their relatives after the fire-damp explosion in the mine.

In line with the assessment of needs and the planning of work to be carried out in the region by the ÇYDD Headquarters Disaster Unit, first of all, scholarship support will be provided widely (primary, secondary, and university) to the children of the families who lost their relatives in the mine explosion and to the children of all the laborers working in this mine. In addition, social support and improvement activities will be carried out by ÇYDD project teams in collaboration with the local administrations in the Bartın region. Within the scope of the activities, regional development projects will be established and their implementation will be ensured in the long term. Efforts will be made to raise awareness about the prevention of mine accidents and the measures to be taken in the mines throughout the country.  Clean energy workshops and disaster fighting training will be organized by ÇYDD Headquarters and its branches.

ÇYDD said, "While the pain of the Soma disaster is still in our hearts, such a repeat disaster should not be attributed to fate and passed over as just another work accident." The association aims to support and make contributions in the near future to the students in the regions where the mining disasters are experienced so they can heal their wounds sooner and continue with their education.
