‘Every Girl is a Star’ project was brought to life in 2004 between the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) and Mercedes-Benz Turk and this year, the first get together of 2020 with the ‘Star Girls’, was held in Izmir.

• The Mercedes-Benz Turk project ‘Every Girl is a Star’ which aims to empower women in society is continuing its work in many cities with personal development workshops.

• The Mercedes-Benz Turk officials visited the cities on their list together with ÇYDD and they met with Star Girls from Izmir on January 11th.

ÇYDD and Mercedes-Benz Turk work together to make women stronger and to give them social and economic equity. With this project 1000 female high school students are given scholarships.  Those who go on to university continue to receive their scholarships. Today, in 60 provinces, 1,200 Star Girls, 200 of which are in university, receive scholarships.

In addition to giving them education scholarships, the Star Girls are visited in their home towns to give support for their personal development .  The 35th of these visits took place in Izmir and a personal development workshop was held with the Star Girls. The girls expressed that they had a very productive day.  They said their communication skills developed, they expressed themselves better and that they felt more self-confident.

In the year 2018, Mercedes-Benz Turk added carrier development activities to the project. In conjunction with ‘Ask Someone Who Knows’ enterprise, one of the 1917 finalists of the Mercedes-Benz Turk StartUP, a corporate social responsibility project, sets of university entrance-exam questions were developed to better the chances of the Star Girls doing well when taking the university entrance exams. They improved the content of the 2018 coding education and turned it into a program at the end of which students produce projects.  The objective is to develop operational and analytic thinking of the students, to help them realise their potential and give them the ability to produce socially beneficial ideas or products.

On-line English language courses were developed for Star Girls that started to receive scholarships in high school and continued on with their university education.

Mercedes-Benz Turk also provides employment opportunities.  20\% of their woman employees in the production section are former scholarship holders of the ‘Every Girl is a Star’ project.
