“NOW THE SUN RISES FROM HOPE” PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION OPENS

Prepared in commemoration of Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan’s 90th birthday, the photography
exhibition titled “Now the Sun Rises from Hope” was opened with a ceremony held at
Caddebostan Cultural Center on December 12, 2025.

Organized through the collaboration of the Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği (ÇYDD)
Headquarters and the ÇYDD Kadıköy Branch, the photography exhibition “Now the Sun
Rises from Hope,” prepared in memory of Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan’s 90th birthday, was
inaugurated on December 12, 2025, at Caddebostan Cultural Center.
The opening ceremony was attended by ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel, members of
the Headquarters Executive Board, ÇYDD volunteers, and former students of Prof. Dr. Türkan
Saylan. During the ceremony, Türkan Saylan’s struggle in the field of education, her
contributions to society, and her efforts reflecting the values of Contemporary Life were
once again emphasized.
As part of the exhibition, visitors were presented with photographs depicting Prof. Dr.
Türkan Saylan’s life, professional work, contributions to education, and her fight against
leprosy. The event also featured Mehmet Zaman Saçlıoğlu, author of the book “Now the Sun
Rises from Hope,” after which the exhibition is named, who met with participants and signed
copies of the book’s new edition.
The exhibition, open to visitors at Caddebostan Cultural Center, Performance Floor 1, will
continue to welcome art lovers until December 18, 2025.
