November 24, 1928...

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our secular Republic, accepted to be the
Headteacher of the National Schools; and led the way to raise generations with free ideas,
conscience and wisdom.

Today, our headteachers are taking firm steps on the path Mustafa Kemal Atatürk opened; thanks to
our teachers who raise contemporary youth, we have been carrying our Republican values to the
future for 33 years.

We know that the sentences written for you once a year, the thanks expressed, or the promises
repeated will not be enough, however, we will always stand against every idea that tries to trivialize
your profession, ideals, efforts, and sacrifices, and we will continue to fight all obstacles that stand in
your way.

As the ÇYDD, we continue our struggle against the injustices done to our teachers with the power our century-old Republic has given us and we continue to work together for contemporary education.

We reiterate our gratitude to our teachers who shape the modern future with the words of our
headteacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, "The security of the future is based on an education based on
solid foundations, and education is based on the teacher." By the same token,  Prof. Dr. Türkân Saylan told our teachers to foremost, "Teach their children that people are equal and that they have rights and duties. You are the ones who will raise new generations who sincerely embrace equality of opportunity and look forward to it."

We thank all our teachers who leave a mark on our children, our youth, and all of us.

We will continue to protect the values of our secular Republic, to always stand by you and in the light
of Atatürk's revolution and principles. We'll all strive to reach contemporary people and society
through contemporary education.
