Apologize to the Republic!

apologize-to-the-republic We strongly condemn the retrograde and anti-Republican rhetoric targeting the Republic of Turkey in a hostile manner.

AKP Group Deputy Chairman Mahir Ünal said, "The harshest cultural revolution in history has taken place in Turkey. Unfortunately, as a cultural revolution, the Republic has destroyed our vocabulary, our alphabet, our language, and all our thinking." Such statements contrary to the Republic are unacceptable!

We have recently celebrated the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and we strongly condemn this retrograde and anti-Republican rhetoric!

It is seriously worrying that the opposition to the values and achievements of the Republic is being carried out with such courage each passing day.  The solution to such an extent of social polarization is the founding philosophy of our country.  The solution is truly carrying out the Atatürk revolution and principles.

Turkish is one of the richest and most deep-rooted languages in the world. The person who uses negative expressions against Turkish should first review his own point of view and hateful speech, not Turkish.

The secular Republic of Turkey is the greatest legacy that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk entrusted to us by never giving up the idea of a "free, independent, and modern nation" that he defended throughout his life.  The Turkish language is the provider of national integrity and independence.  It is the most important tool in carrying the Republic into the future. The statements by the AKP Group Deputy Chairman are grossly disrespectful not only to the Republic but also to our martyrs and veterans of the War of Independence, who fought until their last breaths for the liberation of the nation.

As the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life, we will continue to defend the rule of law, democracy, and the values of the secular Republic of Turkey at all times and everywhere, as we have done for 33 years.

In the face of the above-mentioned statements, we invite the Public Prosecutors to duty.

We respectfully announce our stance to the public.
