30th Justice and Democracy Week: Re-Republic!

30th-justice-and-democracy-week-re-republic In the hope that the seeds of justice and democracy, planted by our luminaries for years, will sprout again on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we say "Re-Republic"!

For 30 years, the week between January 24 and January 31, which marks the death anniversary of journalist and writer Uğur Mumcu, who was killed on January 24, 1993, and Prof. Dr. Muammer Aksoy, who was killed on January 31, 1990, has been accepted as Justice and Democracy Week.

As a result of the investigations opened after our luminaries were killed one after the other, the perpetrators of these assassinations were almost never found, and the massacres were covered up by law. The purpose of these bitter events targeting our Kemalist luminaries was to distance society from the light of the Republic. That's why it's our social responsibility to destroy the darkness that cuts our community leaders and luminaries from us.

In the hope that the seeds of justice and democracy, planted by our luminaries for years, will sprout again on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we say "Re-Republic"! We continue to move forward with our unwavering belief in justice and democracy in order to preserve, sustain and carry our republican values to the future.

We owe a debt to Great Atatürk, who advocated that being together should be the only reality even in the most difficult times, to our intellectuals and the secular Republic who have always struggled to ensure justice and democracy!

As CYDD, we are determined to realize the goal of "reaching the level of contemporary societies", which Great Atatürk showed, through modern education. In order to pay our debt to the Republic, we will continue to work and move forward with the responsibility of protecting and keeping the Republic alive.

We commemorate Uğur Mumcu and Prof. Dr. Muammer Aksoy with respect.
